History

Gibbs has been produced through a collaboration of more than 20 years between Laboratoire de Chimie Physique and IFP Énergies Nouvelles.

The collaboration started in 1997, at that time between the Laboratoire de Chimie Physique des Matériaux Amorphes (CPMA) (one of the laboratories that merged to create Laboratoire de Chimie Physique) and between Institut Français du Pétrôle (that became IFP Énergies Nouvelles).

Gibbs has benefited from numerous collaborations, and notably from a long-term collaboration with Le Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives

And there were numerous other academic collaborations, among which :

  • ENSCP, Paris
  • Armines, Paris-Tech
  • Université Rovira i Virgili, Tarragone
  • Imperial College, Londres
  • Université Montpellier
  • Université de Mulhouse
  • Université de Dijon,
  • Université de Clermont-Ferrand,
  • ...

Thanks to all these collaborations, Gibbs has grown steadily since 2003 :

Since 2003, an agreement has been made with the Materials Design company, through which this company has integrated Gibbs in its Medea-Gibbs interface and resells it to industrial users.
