“Integral Membrane Proteins : top-down mass spectrometry meets structural proteomics”
Résumé
Membrane proteins constitute a critical segment of the proteome but their physical properties challenge many analytical technologies. For twenty years liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry has yielded fundamental information for structural biologists studying the structure and function of membrane proteins. Recent developments in native mass spectrometry and ion mobility raise the exciting potential that mass spectrometry will take on a driving role in structural biology in future.
